Vital Records Scammers (Scam call) reported by Happily Married
Someone left me today by the name of Sidney from "Vital Records" and asked me to call back concerning my "document." I thought there was an issue with my marriage in NV and returned the call. Yup, when I called the ext. Sidney answered the phone and asked if I wanted to order a copy of my marriage certificate. She pushed and stated that she knows that I would need it for the SSA and other offices and that's how they get you. I guess she thought this was going to get me to open up my pocketbook sooner. She went on to say that if I order it through the court house it could take as long as several weeks but if I ordered it through them it would be in the mailed today. I told Sidney that I would call her back when my husband comes home. When hubby came in, he told me that someone called him. WTH? So if she couldn't get me to fork over credit card information, she was going for hubby instead? The entire thing just sounded so fishy and after getting off the phone with her, I went online and found several websites talking about this scam. I sent hubby a quick text and told him not to talk to anyone from a 702 area code. Good thing he didn't answer the phone. I feel sorry for the people here that got scammed for a document that only costs $15. Hey Sidney I hope you're reading this. It's not nice to scam people and trying to get their hard-earned money. When I sensed something fishy about this and told you that I would talk to my husband about this when he got home, you went ahead and called him anyway thinking you were going to get the credit card information by any means necessary. The jokes on you. Hubby saw the area code and didn't pick up the phone! How would you like it if this was done to you? What goes around comes around and I hope for you it comes around 500 fold. Also, by the way, remember that marriage certificate you said could take weeks to get and that you know that I would need it immediately for SSA, DMV and other places? I got my 3 certified cop

We got married in Vegas also, but at the Wedding Chapel. We have received many phone calls from these people, stating the exact thing in the comments below - $69 for overnight delivery vs $35 if we order on line. I agree - someone should stop this nonsense especially since it is not just one company trying these scams.

I got married this past weekend and was cold called by this number today. Someone stated they were from the Clark County Recorder's office and stated that our certificate was posted and ready to be ordered. They gave the same website as below (www.vitalrecords.com) and said I could order it online and it would get to me within 3 weeks or I could order it today for $69 and be delivered within 2-3 days. They knew my bride's name also as well as mine. Freaky... Someone needs to stop these jackasses.... Anyone else get married at Lucky Little Chapel that had a similar experience?

I got married in Las Vegas and this number called me to let me know my marriage certificate was ready and they could mail it today for $69.00. The clark county website costs only 15 for a copy of the marriage certificate. When I asked for a website to order online she gave me www.vitalrecords.com Not a county or government website. when I went to the website it was for data protection.

Happen to me on 4/12/2016 at 2pm just like this. someone needs to hunt these bastards down and break some legs. they will not be getting the $69 from my account M&T bank are on it

I just got a similar call. I deal with county government offices with my job and had never heard of a local call for this so why would someone call out of state. Told them my husband was handling getting the certificate so they probably left him a message.
The staff at the office when we got our license gave us all the information to get copies and the forms for Soc Sec are available at the SSI office. They try to get you with it is needed for so many things within 30 days such as insurance. I suppose they get a lot of people with this line along with they presently are backed up by 3 weeks in sending out copies to get people to pay. IF I recall the Marriage office did not offer overnight delivery as they say they do.
THey really need a law like other states that the license filings are not searchable so these people can't find out who to call.
