Problem with my computer (Scam call) reported by


I got a call from this number for the first time today. I answered and a male with a foreign accent informed me that there was a problem with my computer and asked me what I saw. As I lied to him to google the phone number before doing anything else he asked me to press the windows button and "R" at the same time. He then asked me to type in "eventvwr" and click go. At this point I told him to hold on and continued going about my business until I hung up on him a couple minutes later. Of course a number that read as 1-000-000-0000 popped up and he called me 4 more times in the period of about 1 minute before I could get both numbers blocked from calling me.

india accent called stating my computer was causing problems on their computer servers. he will help me clean it up. asked me to go to the computer. I walk slow for these. every so often make them repeat themselves. oh yeah fun to put I on speaker phone so the rest of the IT department or family can hear the call. If I am not busy I drag out the call to waste their time. Do the dishes, make coffee or a meal. Explain my computer is old and it takes a long time to boot. act like I'm going through the steps until I get bored then call it for what it is. Twice now they get someone else that is acting like a manager. Claim they will shut my computer down. Right..... Phone is work phone and no way tied to my house like they say it is. oh they get confused when I say I my OS (windows operating system ) is 3.1 hehe. fun times. at the end the acting manager usually looses his cool and uses a lot of 4 letter nasty words. Scam but fun teaching the kids and the older parents...
