Constantly calling my number during work hours so I blocked the number, they continue to call regularly.

This number has been verified on Scotiabanks' Facebook site as a legitimate number. The problem I have is that they are apparently asking people for personal details to verify accounts, etc... something which Scotiabank says it will never do. No - you should not give out personal info over the phone unless you call them. If everyone knows this - what are they hoping to gain by breaking their own rules of security? I blocked the number. If I need info or services, I know where they are.

Today on Saturday I also received call from this no from some one name Mr Gaurav asking my personal details Scotiabank account no. etc when I denied to give, he request to contact any branch of Scotia Bank ... Seems it's a scam no.

I just got a call from this number and they almost got me they were saying i got a credit limit increase which is funny because i actually got a limit increase a month ago. Anyways i say ok, and then they say ima just need your information then i got spooked and said nevermind and hung up lol

It has to be a scam.....I do not have and have never dealt with the scotia bank.

Where in their Facebook page do they verify this number? I called Scotiabank customer service and they said that this number is not affiliated with them.

Phishing Scam claim to be from Scotia Bank but bank doesn't call . I didn't answer but googled number.

It's a telemarketer contracted by Scotiabank to promote their VISA credit cards. I've confirmed this directly with Scotiabank, and if you have an online account with them, you can see the same credit card offer in your communications profile of that account. I told them that unless they unblock both their Caller ID and number, we just don't answer the phone!!

Woman saying she was from Scotiabank, which was great because I needed to call them anyway about something. Then she asked me for some personal information for verification purposes. Rest of the call was a bit sketchy, so I ended it and called Scotiabank. They were able to verify that Scotiabank did indeed call me, so it wasn't a scam.

They call because they know you have a Scene Card which is a partner with Scotia Bank. They try and offer you a credit card.

When I told them I have no accounts with Scotiabank, she offered to give me information if I answered a few "non-banking questions" as she put it. Didn't trust it, so I asked her to call me back later.

Woman with heavy accent asked for me and mispronounced my name. When I said "who wants to know", she replied that it was from Scotiabank. At that point, I said I didn't want to here from a bank about anything and hung up. It was 7:45 in the evening.
