They claimed that my account was delinquent and would be sent to collections to avoid shutting off service. After questioning then said it was for a property that I haven't owned in a long time but that I still owed money. No return phone number given and was told to meet at their company headquarters. I doubt it's legit.

Entergy disconnection manager SCAM. I received a call from "our local power company" stating we will be disconnected for failure to pay for the last three months. He gave me this number to reach the "disconnection manager".I spoke and he said there is a new meter where we pay by swiping our card on it.

I received a call, claiming to be our local power company informing me that they will be cutting off our power at one of our tourist locations. I asked and gave the individual that called my business credit card number. A few minutes later I was informed that my credit card was denied and was ask to hold for an operations manager. Upon talking to the operations manager I was told that my credit card was denied and that the only way to get my power from being disconnected was to meet at a certain location and pay them in cash. They asked for my zip code in order to have us meet, which is an cash outfit that used express payment services.
Once they asked for cash I figured it was a scam. Contacted the credit card company and canceled the credit card, also contacted the local police and gave them this phone number along with the extension they gave me as 1307.
Now power company gives their technicians the power to collect money in the field, rather they will either have you come into the office to pay for your outstanding bill with either cash or money order. they will accept credit cards over the phone.
Those scammers are getting creative!
