Received call from this unknown # w/ no Caller ID but didn't answer. Looked up the number & see numerous indicators that was from Bank of America. I had a past due payment (3/2025) because I inadvertently sent payment to a DIFFERENT BoA acct than one I was trying to pay. Discovered this missed payment via an e-mail from BoA, and called BoA directly. Pretty sure call was from BoA regarding the missed payment. HOWEVER, I would not have discussed w/ a random caller w/ or w/o caller ID showing may have been from a legitimate company. ALWAYS call the entity DIRECTLY! This # is NOT a collections agency, just B0A trying to get their payment BEFORE sending to collections.

This is a very much a live SCAM alert number. these people are pros and they're posing as Bank of America representation as a debt collector. DO NOT give these people any information about your account or your DOB or even your SS. As other people have stated in their previous statements they called and left multiple messages during the Thanksgiving holidays on my work phone and I'm my cell phone. initially I ignored them but I just kept on calling just for sanity check purposes. I double checked the Bank of America website for initial problems with our accounts flags were cleared,so I kept ignoring them and they kept calling. I was about 99% sure these were scam artists but I wanted to find out as much information as I could about them so I did call them back and they are very very good phishing and social engineering artist. I went back and forth with him for about 20 minutes trying to trip them up too and divulging information about themselves long story short they got frustrated and hung up. I took it one step further and went to my local branch just for a triple sanity check and had them verify the account through their system. The two Yahoo's who that said that this was a safe number is full of crap this is not a safe number. this number is on Bank of America's list and from what we can tell this number originates from overseas without a MAC address there's no way to tell without 100% also if you get a call from this number you need to report them to not only to your local bank branch but to the BBB bureau. The other number that is associated with this number is 1 888 800-9030. As always if the number is not part of your contacts don't answer them research them if possible and then block'em

"Tracy Adams" of BofA called from "FIA Card Services" 800-536-1584 on caller id. Knew my name but I said "she's not available". Tracy asked "do you know when she'll be available?" Nope. Took a message to call her at 866-441-2296.

Kept getting calls from this number so I called the number on the back of the BOA card to find I under paid my bill by $14. Asked why they kept calling without leaving a message to be told that it is against the law to leave messages regarding debt collection without consent. Sounds hokey to me but that is what they told me.

To add to your comment, by not saying why they called, by law it allows them to continue to call you. Sounds counter intuitive doesn't it? If its a legit call to remind you of a debt, why not leave a message simply asking you to call the number on the back of your card or log into your account for information? In essence, by calling you and not "making contact", they are allowed to call you several times a day, week until a representative talks to you.

I will add that if its just a random call talking bout reducing your interest rate I offer this......for most of my credit cards "when and if" the lender/bank decides to lower my rate, they simply do it and maybe send me a secured message or a letter. No need to call. Getting a random robo call about lower interest rate is a CLUE its spam or a scam.
