Likely Spoofing of MetEd (Robocall) reported by Jetenyo
Appeared as First Energy on Caller ID. Number was the one for MetEds main line. (Theses companies are related.)Robocaller offering lower rates... My name is not the one on the bill for power at my home, they would not have my number or a reason to contact me. This is definitely not real.

Spoofing Met-Ed phone number (Scam call) reported by TJL
Phone number shows legitimate Met-Ed number. Quoted electric rate $0.08xx/kwh. I replied my generation rate is lower. Caller said that rate is total cost. I replied that is not possible since distribution and other charges are fixed by local utility; only generation charge can be changed. Caller hung up.

The "number 1 clue", in the caller ID readout of (1ST ENERGY CO); This is a scam call that is going around using the spoofing of the real (800) 545-7741 First Energy Corp # in their scam. If Anyone see's " 1ST ENERGY CO " on the Caller ID, Do NOT pick up, it's a Scam Call. Just ignore it; If The Real - First Energy Corp, had an issue, They would send a letter, Or a Service Truck to Test Meter. Plus real First Energy Corp would NEVER talk or threaten cutoff over phone (as they tried to do using the name of the former owner of our unlisted #); They would send Proper Uniformed with Co. ID & Co. Truck to knock on door before shutting off electric, and ONLY after several letter's of intent of same being unanswered.
