They left a recorded message on my answering machine. It said American Express wants to discuss an important matter, so call back on 1800-592-1160. I called AMEX customer service on a known good telephone number and they told me that 1800-592-1160 is not one of their numbers. It is probably scammers wanting to get your personal information so they can steal your identity.

This appears to be an attempt to steal info from you. When I called AMEX at a KNOWN number, they said there was nothing wrong with the account and that the message on my phone was phony.
