I don't have Mastercard or VISA. I played along with the man with a thick foreign accent who said he was calling from Arizona. He said he could lower my interest rate. He asked what card I would like to lower my interest rate on. I just thought of some random card that he wouldn't know. I told him I had a Home Depot credit card at 8 percent and would like to lower it. He didn't understand what a Home Depot credit card was. So he went on to ask me the balance that I owed on the credit card. I told him it wasn't important and that I was interested in what interest rate he could offer me. He became more irritated and started demanding to know the amount on my credit card. At one point he muted the call and came back demanding to know the amount. I told him what I hear from these scammers all the time. I said.. "Sir time is money and I feel you are wasting my time." to which he hung up on me.

This call comes in frequently, sometimes using a different 800 number. It is a recording that offers to lower interest rates on credit card. It said to press 1 to speak to a representative. A man with a foreign accent came on the line. I screamed an obscenity at the top of my lungs and hung up quickly. This is my new tactic for all such calls. Maybe it won't help prevent calls, but it makes me feel better.

robot call selling reduced interest rates on my credit cards. I do not even have a single credit card. total scam and they called 4 times within 10 min. I finally answered only to find out the should I answer app was right on the money. I love this app.
