I answered. They asked for me by name. I asked who was calling. They gave a first name only and asked if I was me. I asked again who was calling, and if I could at least provide [me] with a company name. I was told that they could not do that, as it was a private call, and if they gave the company name that apparently would make it so I knew what they were calling about. I don't see how that can be anything but a debt collector. I took a message for myself, and she slipped up and almost said she could give me a case number or account number or something, then realized she couldn't even do that, so we left it at that and I hung up. It's either a debt collector for god knows what or a scam pretending to be a debt collector to get information. Either is plausible. Note: I spoke with someone named Ebony who gave the extension number 1574.
