One Indian accent person who initially knew my name and address called(with caller ID 'Virgin') and try to sell internet services with Fiber optic technology as well as TV live channels from Virgin mobile. He just wants to get my identity through soft credit checking, which I then hang down the call. He offered some gift cards and 35$ for monthly fiber internet for first year and 70$ for the second year. I am pretty sure that this person works before for mobile/internet companies and he knew to direct the technical conversation and asking the question even about the internet loads in home.

I'm with virgin for internet . Receive call from this number 5 to 6 times a week. But when I answer they arent able to speak in french (i'm from quebec) so I had every conversation with legitimate virgin employee in french

What they’re really trying to do is get their hands on your personal information, like passwords, PINs or banking or credit card details, to use for their own fraudulent purposes. To trick you, they might try to sell you a new rate plan (which is phony), ask you to complete a survey, promise you some kind of incentive, or they may tell you that they’re updating your account and want you to “confirm some details”. Another scam frequently employed by fraudsters is to leave you a pre-recorded message that promises travel rewards, or a $100 credit on your next bill, and then directs you to a fraudulent website, or asks you to call a 1-800 number where you’ll be asked for more of your personal information

Initially, when it was ringing, my phone screen appeared on a random call and it could be a fraud. I answered the call and it was someone who confirmed my first name and apparently had an Indian accent and made me an offer to watch Virgin TV, but I ended the call by saying I don't speak English.

Picked up a call, the women addressed me as "Mr (last name)?", I told her "Ms" and she was silent for few second and than continued..." I am calling from Nordia bla bla bla, you qualify for TV stuff"...i said "okaaayyy"...she was again silent for a few second and than continue "would you like to participate in a promotion?"...to which i said "how are you connected with me?"...silence and she replied "thank you" and hand up. Scam 100%, same number called me the day before asking for my name telling me they are virgin, asking me if i have virgin and what is my name...never responded to them with any info, said not interested, now blocked their number and report as a scam.

"Virgin" name showed up on my phone. They didn't leave a message. I called back. The beginning of the usual English Lady spiel on the machine came on, then was cut off by an Indian (India) sounding person WHO DIDN'T IDENTIFY HIMSELF AS VIRGIN at the beginning.. just said "Hello." I got IMMEDIATELY suspicious. Just said my first name with phone number. He said he was from Virgin, and offering a "deal" for Virgin TV. I didn't even know that Virgin offered TV, only internet. Then he told me it was a streaming service. I told him I am NOT interested. Then I hung up. I IMMEDIATELY CALLED the "Real" Virgin number.. and he said that the phone number was legit. He claimed that it was "one of their Bell numbers." (He sounded like the same guy I talked to earlier.) On the internet, Virgin Mobile's website states that Virgin does NOT MAKE PHONE CALLS TO SELL PRODUCTS or SERVICES, and ONLY CALLS BACK clients who called first. So WHY is "Virgin" calling making phone calls to sell services??

This number isn't a scam, it's telemarketing. The person who cold called me was a rep for Virgin TV, which I was able to confirm later on (he sent me a legitimate Virgin promo offer linked to my account).
