It seems First Energy's new policy is to call you the day after your bill is due. It is very annoying but totally legal. I asked them to change my billing date but they can't because it tied to when they come out to check the meter. So I told them then I will always be a few days past due because of being paid bi-monthly. I ignore them mostly now.

A local police department is advising that this a scam call and NOT actually a call from JCP&L. Do not give them any information, call JCPL at the number on your bill and verify whether you owe them money.

I received this call posing as JCP&L. Because I had a problem with the real JCP&L I thought it was them, but before i called i research the number & i end it up. I am happy i did not call...saved by the bell
