collection agency which purchases debts and charges a "finance charge" with interest to profit. Ministry of Finance is not the CRA. They will harass and lie using phrases like time sensitive in voicemails and agreements over phone that wont be honored.Block and do not engage.even if the debt is real,only pay the debt through the cra. paying their scam charge will not erase the bad credit.

Robot called, didn't wait for the message option to actually start so only a half a message. I don't return calls from robots. If folks expect me to call them they better leave a proper message.

If you owe anything to OSAP, you will be hearing from this company. I read the Ontario government didn't have the time or resources to collect outstanding balances on student loans so they have EOS Canada doing the dirty work. Look it up, it's true. Now, just because they're calling you doesn't mean you actually owe OSAP anything, like me. The problem is I paid the loan off over 20 years ago but try getting proof saying you did...it's near impossible!! lol

I have been receiving pretty much daily calls from this "collection agency" for at least 6 months. My main issues are that (a) I am not the person they are looking for; (b) I don't know, and have never even heard of the person they are looking for; (c) It definitely isn't my debt. I have called back on occasion to try to tell them this, but today is the first time I was able to speak to a real person. I told her that this needs to stop, and I don't know this person, or how they got my number, but it's irtitating the crap out of me. She saud they would take my number off the list, but I'll believe it when I see it.

First of all they called my company phone which I don't have under my acct., second of all they said I have a outstanding utility balance and face disconnection. The guy doesn't realize that Texas deregulated along time ago and we purchase electricity from a third party provider, not through the company he claimed to be with. SCAM ALERT!!!!

In Ontario, real debt collectors will send you a message in the mail: "In Ontario, registered collection agencies must send you a private letter by mail or email." (from https://www.ontario.ca/page/stop-collection-agency-calls ) This is not a real debt collection agency and is 100% a scam.

I found this number on the Service Canada website. I did my income taxes and my return was withheld. This is the info from Canadian Government website "Information on outstanding debts with federal, provincial, or territorial government programs Program Phone number Amount Criminal Code of Canada Fines (Ministry of the Attorney General" I have no idea what criminal fine i owe but this must be a valid company. I will not be calling them to find out what its about because I do not want them to have my contact info and start sending me harrassing calls every day.

The woman that I spoke with was friendly. However, uninformed. Given them fake information should terminate the telephone call, but they do not actually verify. DO NOT answer calls from this number.

I have excellent credit and no debts with the "ministry of finance". This number called and asked me to provide personal information. When I hesitated and said that I do not give personal information to a company that I didn't call, they claimed that I had an issue with the "ministry of finance". I told them I would call the "ministry of finance" they offered to give me the number. When I said no that's ok I'll look it up myself, they said "never mind, if you are refusing to deal with this issue I will write it down - have a nice day" I said "wait ... If you could please tell the name of the office to call, I would be happy to" and she hung up on me. FRAUD for sure. EOS my butt. 1-844-675-0579 Ext 3412

You people make me laugh....a collection agency calls you advised you that they are calling on behalf of the Ontario government and instead of trying to work with them and find out why you may owe money, you run from your bills and encourage others to do the same. you put these post up to indicate that the call is fraud/scam.....FYI they are collecting for the government and thankfully I did not listen to the nonsense that is written here and I was able to work out paying a bill I actually owed.

The reason its listed as fraud is because these * try to collect money that people no longer owe! They tried to get me to pay a fine that I paid 14yrs. Ago!!!

When they called, it was first music, and then a woman came on the line. She asked if this was my name, and then said to hold for a representative. Then, she came back on the line, and said that the representative was on another line. She then began telling me, that I needed to respond quickly to this situation, for it would effect me badly, if I didn't. I hung up!

I hope the "Should I Answer?" app will succeed where other similar apps have failed and block all attempts to contact me from this number. This number appears on a blocked number list from a previous app. I do not recall specifics re the reason for entry. Suffice to say the number was "unsolicited".
