Caller stated that I was being served civil litigation papers on the next day in reference to a supposed years old unpaid debt. They refused to tell me the debt collector's information, but they claimed to be connected with the USDOJ. They said that my original debt was between $200-$400. However, the civil case would bring judgement against me of nearly $7500. When I tried to ask any questions they just replied: "You've known about this." About midway through the call they begin to offer me the potential option of them dropping the case in exchange for money. They put who they called the "head attorney" on the phone. She offered to call me right back with details on my "out of court settlement." I agreed, and I contacted an attorney's office while waiting on the callback. The law secretary said he had no doubt it was a scam. When the "head attorney" called back I told her that I'd contacted my attorney and I would record future calls. She got very angry and said, "You've been running from this debt and now you're running again. We will catch you. God bless." She then hung up. In all, I spoke with three different "staff members." All three spoke very poor, broken English and sounded to be of Indian dialect. The two numbers they used were: 8663654968 3472930777

Caller said they were calling for INC a law firm. They said I'm being sued but couldn't tell me why. She gave me the last four ssn. I asked the lady name she said Sara Jones. I asked for number she said you should have it on your phone. I said I don't she said well you should it's not possible that you can't. I said let me call the BBB and I will call you back. I think we both hung up at same time.

Scammers that have "spoofed" the real number for the Dept of Justice located in North Georgia. The man spoke to me in a very heavy accent and broken english with improper grammar. Knew my name and asked "when a good time to be serving papers". Dipshits don't even sound convincing at all. I responded with "right now". he said ok and hung up.

saying they want to help me out of a situation, that they talked to me before, I have a court date, I'm being sued, wanted to transfer me to legal dept. this was 866 number,.. next day similar calls but coming from a 619-264-8146 number out of Los Angeles, same thing, you have to pay, they gave me my last four SSNs.. somehow the scammers getting people's info.

Called said they were department of justice for INC collector of money they wanted to know what a good time was to serve me with papers so I could go to court,..i told them well in the United States when we get served there is no one that calls first to set a time to get served this is a scam and don't call me again and I hung up...they had a strong accent like from India or something.

VNS stands for Victim Notification System. Yet the scammer is saying I am a suspect and have a warrant for my arrest and they need to serve me papers. These **** think we are so stupid that we will give them our personal info. He was very rude and Had no information to give to me other than the name and date the first scammer tried calling me. I had to yell into my phone for him to hear me because he would not stop yelling at me. They are obviously using a cell phone app that allows them to call from a number that is a actual number. But they made the mistake by using a Victim Notification System number instead of an actual local sheriff's office number. I am so tired of these overseas **** thinking we are so stupid that we will just fork over our info for them to scam us! I pray he calls again so I can explain to him how stupid he and his scamming friends are!

The caller asked what is a good time to serve you between 11 and 4. I asked him who was this and he said the united states justice department. He said he was calling from Washington. I asked him what address will they be serving me at and he said don't worry we have the address and the information we need and hung up. This has to be a scam. The department of justice shouldn't be looking for me for nothing.

They have called multiple times at all hours of the day and night. Typically when I answer they hang up on me and don't say anything. When someone has talked to me on the phone they told me I had a warrant and wanted to know when would be the best time between 11-4 to serve me? I asked if they could explain what these charges were for and they wouldn't. I then said I've never heard of anyone calling to find a good time for when they can serve someone they just go and serve the person. The person then got nasty with me and hung up the phone.... I called my friend who is a lawyer to make sure everything is okay and nothing was found. Very frustrating!
