Collecting a debt already paid (Debt collector) reported by


Claimed to be a debt collector working for the company I work at. We have employee credit accounts that, if remain unpaid, get taken out of our checks. I admit I haven't been able to pay mine, but only because I was laid off due to covid. The company took it out of final check, as I expected, and never contacted me about it since. Even told me I'd be welcome back after things calm down. Now I'm getting this call from a "James" claiming he's from Transworld, Inc. He then asked me to confirm my address? Oh hell no, NEVER give you information over the phone, unless you know the caller personally! I asked him what the reason was for the call, and he kept telling me "I cant release the information about the account until you confirm your information." Release information? I asked what the reason for the call was because I've never heard of this company *facepalm*. If they're legit, you'll get a letter, not an phone call.

Claims to be a credit collection agency . Called back. I got two varying answers. 1st female said, somewhere in the Pacific Northwest- this was in response to asking what city and state. I asked again. What city and state. She side stepped the answer and in so doing her ear got filled with words she'd never heard before ( I'm blue collar and I'll wipe the floor with you). Called back a second time and got a male. Same question. City and state? Springfield Missouri. ****! Number reported to my cell carrier and now here. WARNING! If you do get a call from these ****, ask for the city and state and if it's not applicable to where you are ? It's not real at all. BLOCKED and LOCKED OUT!. Enough is enough. Next go around I'll get an address and walk in with a ball bat.

Transworld Systems asking me to verify my birthdate (um, no.) Tried to sound legit, told me to look them up online. I contacted the vendor they mentioned and was told they don't use that service. Have since blocked the number.

02.03.2022 Answered the phone did not say anything- immediately muted call - my modus operandi for all unrecognizable numbers A "live" man immediately told me "the call is being recorded" - he asked me if I was who I am - I replied you must have the wrong number. A perfect gentleman he was and what was strange - he was truly surprised that I had said you must have the wrong number. Not a reaction like a bill collector! I'm a bit concerned
