The driver thought she forgot to give me one of my grocery items. I let them know that I wasn't missing anything and we hung up. It was hard to hear them. She did ask to verify my name, but that was it. I think they're legit.

Legitimate Amazon call center..this particular time was to follow up on an expected package since many times my packages are misdelivered by Amazon drivers. Excellent customer service!!

Amazon Delivery. they only info they asked is to verify my name and no other personal info. you can easily see a package from my house and they wanted to make sure it was in a secure location.

Wanted my information to deliver a package from Amazon. (Scam call) reported by Jeff B
I do not order from Amazon, so I asked who the package was for. The man said that he cannot give out that information, but if I wanted to receive my package I would have to provide my personal information to him to verify my identity. I also heard a disclaimer about the call being monitored and / or recorded. I again asked this caller who he would like to speak with about the package. His reply was he cannot give that information out. Draw your own conclusion.

Just recieved the same scenario.

Similar situation. She wanted our amazon acct number. Nope. Husband handed the phone to me and she wanted to know if we have an amazon delivery coming today. I said we don't. Because we don't. She wanted to know if anyone else in the house might have ordered from amazon. I told her we order from them but don't have anything coming in and there's no one else for her to talk to. Then she wants the name on the package. I told her I have no idea what package she is referencing and gave her only the names we use on amazon for possible delivery. Then she wants my address. I said no because she should have that info, I am not going to 'verify' info that I have no reason to believe she has. Handed the phone back to husband who also told her no when she insisted on more info. No idea if this was their half-assed handling of a legit call but the whole thing was not cool and felt scammy. If it was amazon, they need to change how they approach calling people out of the blue and requesting info without offering any.
