I was locked out of my account on the app. This was the number that pops up to call. I spoke with someone who did ask for my entire SSN which made me nervous. And sent a SMS verification code. Since it was after hours he wasn’t able to help but provided me with a number to call in the morning. I called this number who also sent an SMS from the same number and was able to verify my account from the previous call. It is legitimate. I also panicked and looked up the number. This is the number they provide via the Chase Support verified Twitter account also

Locked Access to Online Chase Account with a Message "Locked Account Suspicious Activity, Call 877-691-8086 Called an Automated System the put me on a 7 minute hold to verify Social Security Number information then told me to go to a Chase Bank with 2 forms of ID. I told the lady the closest Chase is 100 miles away so she tried to text a code that didn't work, then she asked for the Debit Card's Numbers, Codes, Expiration and Pin be entered on the key pad. I asked what the suspicious activity was and she said "Oops, the account is locked again" A couple minutes later she has me check if I can login online and it works. She made no mention of what was suspicious and I see no messages online about what activity closed access down. When the lady hangs up she says "Sorry for the hassle"

Similar problems with Chase. Lockout out of my account and incredibly difficult to get back in. When I complained to the branch they said yes a lot of customers are very unhappy with Chase's level of support and service. And my carrier sent a high extra charge for the call. Better off with Capital One much better support

Chase Bank Fraud Protection, Banking, Chase Bank calling to verify payroll checks that one of their customers had deposited. They had all of the details & were asking for verification that we had written the checks by hand.

Spoke with Brandon, he did NOT ask for any account number, social security or any sensitive information. He only verified a transaction, in which he had all the details for already.
