Robocaller (female) claimed to be calling from Amazon Prime with notification of a [bogus] account charge. After cking my account, I saw nothing and concluded it had to be a scam.

Spoofed Amazon Support (aka not actually Amazon Support) (Scam call) reported by


TL;DR - If they call you unscheduled, IT'S NOT AMAZON! Answered and was greeted by an automated female voice saying "Your Amazon account has been charged $750. If you did not place this order, press 1 to cancel it and get a refund." Immediately checked my order history, and saw nothing unusual. I said "What the [heck]? There's no order here." aloud, and the caller immediately hung up. Looked up the number. It's Amazon Support. I contacted Amazon Support and asked if they call customers. They said "Not generally, unless it's been arranged beforehand", and told me to report the call as spoofed.
