I was looking up the number to see who was calling me from an 888 number n the middle of the night but , my computer was running slow so it hadn't loaded before I gave the guy my last 4 SS numbers . He talks really fast and it's a constant barrage so , it's hard to think , which I'm sure is the point . When I told him I looked it up and would just go to my local branch in the morning because of the reviews I was seeing , the guy actually admitted that if I had given him the rest of the information he would have scammed me and taken all my money . In those words , even . It could have been funny if it wasn't a real thing .

Person left a voicemail since my phone don’t take unknown numbers and he stated his name was Kenneth Williams( Indian accent) stating he’s from TD Bank saying my name, address and to give him a call on his direct line at 832-848-1136. I called the bank and was told the area code is outside their region and said no one in company by that name and number and possible scam, he called the number and said person picked up and didn’t say anything and hung up.

Got a text on two of my phones saying that there was a fraudulent transaction alert from my actual bank. Phone call followed. Sounded pretty legit. They knew my name, address, last 4 social, birthday. Hung up and called my bank back. It wasn't them. Total SCAMMERS.

He will also text you from 866-945-7650 as if he is TD Fraud Detection, it seems like the real thing. Until you call the number on the back of your card and give the number he calls from which is this and texts from.

I received a text message and a call. Asked if I made a purchase that I did not. Said they would send me a new card. Immediately called TD bank and as I was speaking to someone this man called pretending to be me because he had hacked into my account before calling me. Do not answer!

*This just happened to me!* Scammers are using a "Spoof" of the TD Bank customer service number to get account holders to answer their phone (Shows up on caller ID as "TD Bank ATM" or something similar). Once you answer, the person claims to be from TD Bank, and that there was fraudulent activity noted on your account; then they ask you to you to verify your information. DON'T DO IT!!! Hang up immediately and call TD Bank customer service your self. I confirmed with TD Bank customer service that when they call a customer regarding fraud on their account; it would not come from their actual customer service number. Nor would they ask the customer to confirm, or provide information regarding their account numbers, passwords, etc. Do not fall victim to this SCAM. When in doubt, just hang up and call customer service yourself. Be safe out there in this world of crooks and scammers!

Same thing happened to me. I asked them "wouldn't these transactions show up on our account?". The last four numbers of the debit card they were stating did not match my wife or I's cards so I was like nope and hung up. Stated some two transactions out of utah were fraudulent and they had them on hold. Hehe, the bank does not call you about fraudulent transactions, you have to report them to the bank! These scammers are getting relentless.
