A MALE TOLD ME 3 CHARGES WERE MADE IN MIAMI, AND WANTED ADDRESS OR PASSWORD, I TOLD HIM TO CALL BACK IN 10MINS.. CALLED NFCU AND THEY SAID THE BANK DOES NOT CALL USING 888-842-6328, THAT NUMBER IS FOR BANK MEMBERS USE ONLY, PLEASE BE CAREFUL!

Scam hiding behind official NFCU number (Scam call) reported by


The number called me, saying it was Navy Federal’s fraud detection unit and someone was trying to use my card in Miami. I said no and they asked for some information to verify my identity....long story short I gave my address and the verification code they sent via text, which clearly says “navy federal will not ask you for this number”. I discovered about an hour later that the caller immediately cleared my bank account through Western Union. They had Navy Federal on one line and me on the other, feeding them information. This is a very sophisticated scam and they stole thousands from me....I can’t believe I fell for it. I thought because I didn’t give anything really sensitive (SSN, etc), I was “safe”. Also, the number was a navy federal number. I would advise absolutely everyone to hang up and can Navy Federal directly of they call you, criminals have ways to mask their real numbers when they call.

This just happened to me yesterday. They had all my information already and actually spoofed Navy Federals phone number. They wiped my checking account.

This just happened to me yesterday. Those jerks are good. We just closed all my accounts, opened new ones, etc.

This also happened to me yesterday, I was so insanely convinced. He was super good at what he was doing - they even had a woman calling on my behalf!! Thank god navy federal caught it before any damage was done. The scary part was is he knew my transactions.

I received the same call. They told me they were from the fraud department at NFCU and wanted to verify charges from Texas. I live in (Maryland). They knew my personal information and told me they were going to send me a new card. I believe they were already in my account somehow cause they confirm my past transactions. Later I received an email from zell confirming $10 transaction. I called the bank and got my accounts changed. I also changed my passwords to my account. Please be careful and don’t answer calls from fake NFCU number.

Called telling me I had fraud charged in Ohio. Had the last 4 of my debit card number and said someone was trying to buy something from Target, Home Depot, Foot Locker, etc.... Said someone had authorized a Tim Logan from Cleveland, Ohio to get a new debit card but could not give me an address. Also asked for my pin saying that these people had my pin.. I said I would call back he said he was making not on my account mind you there was no keyboard noises. I called Navy Federal Right away. Bogus call, I did not give him any information. According to Navy Federal this has been going on for about 6 months. Be careful. The individual will also tell you that your debit card is compromised and needs your pin to shut it off. Not true. Also, referred to Cleveland as Ohio, Cleveland. Phone cal reception also cut out. This dude was using VOIP apps like textme, google, etc.
