Most probably Indian person on the line asking for my name and company I work for. Person spoke French, so although the number originates from US, it was not a US person as his French was quite OK. Calling back the number ends up to a fax. So most probably it is collecting information to match telephone numbers to e-mail addresses (Linked In, Amazon, Microsoft ? )
