I got this number from a Service Canada agent. If you are not dealing with the Service Canada it is probably being spoofed as for a scam. If you are working with them on something then probably answer with caution.

Many fraud claims for the emergency benefits were made during the past year and agents will be calling the true SIN holder to verify any application, get them in pay and/or secure their SIN if it wasn't them who applied. Some people may not realize their SIN has been used. As an agent working on this, it is very frustrating seeing comments by people who can't do their own research

This is Service Canada's EI call center number and agents are calling EI-ERB applicants. Anyone calling this number will be contacting someone who has access to numerous processing systems that will verify the call and reason for it, calm down people!!

Got a call from 800-206-70xx. "Your SIN has been suspended. Press 1". After pressing 1, a male voice was replying. When I asked about the call, the line was disconnected.

Le message était en anglais alors que je n'ai rien compris d'autre que de faire le 1 pour accéder à un autre niveau. Cet appel ressemble à d'autres appels mentionnés ici. De plus, je ne sais pas si c'est relié mais le mois passé, j'ai reçu, toujours sur mon téléphone cellulaire, pleins d'appels provenant de l'Ontario du code régional 613. Messages toujours en anglais dont je n ' ai jamais rappelés. Maudite fraude ...... soyez prudent. Je n'ai pas répondu, j'ai appelé mais j'ai écouté le message affiché dans ma boîte vocale.
