US Bank Fraud Prevention (Financial services) reported by

Thought this was a scam now im not sure. I received a text message and then a a call. No case number but they gave the last 4 digits of a card number that I do not have in their voicemail. I called them back because things seem to be half and half here and they asked for no personal info but asked if this was Crystal (name) which it is not but I recognized the name from years ago when I was still a small business. So this could be a scam but not from the bank itself because (i really don't know) it asks you to call the number on the back of your card immediately without any additional info if you are not the person they are looking for. I think someone used my business phone to open an account and just never changed the number to their own. Which is really fishy but from my years working in fast food pretty normal.

Fraud Prevention - legitimate (Financial services) reported by

Called multiple times and left message stating it was from US Bank fraud prevention, with valid details about a store-branded visa credit card I hold including the last 4 digits of the card. I had also received a text message asking to confirm if recent transactions were valid - transactions I did not make. When I replied to the text, this number immediately called me again and I answered. They asked to confirm some details and proceeded to cancel the card to prevent further abuse and express ship a replacement card. After the call I decided to verify by calling back to the customer service number on a recent paper statement and they confirmed it was all legitimate.

US Bank Fraud Department (Financial services) reported by

Got a voicemail asking to call 800-308-6995 phone with a case number. Since I didn't recognize the number, I called the number in the back of my (Skypass Visa) credit card and got connected to someone at US Bank Fraud Department. The case number left on the voicemail was a valid number and the person was able to help me with opening a fraudulent charge case.

Fraudulent charges (Scam call) reported by

It was a call about fraudulent charges which was not accurate. Listened to voicemail where they gave me a case number and called my credit card company from the back of my card and not the number I received it from. Don't trust any calls. I always call a number I know not some random.

This is a legitimate fraud alert call. They don't have the same number as your credit card. I didn't answer and then I looked up the number and saw on this site what it was about. Luckily I called back and found four charges made on my card that wasn't me.

This was a legitimate call from a financial company regarding suspicious activity om my account. The charges were valid. I appreciated the contact. I'd rather they contact me to find out if something is legit than to have fraudulent charges on my account.

Repeated spam calls and hard to hear messages about fraud. (Scam call) reported by

Repeated scam calls and hard to hear voicemails about fraud on a major credit card. Its just a scam. They SAY theyre from my credit card company. Theyre not. Theyre fishing for personal info to steal. Theyre been calling for 9 months on teo different phone lines. 1-800-308-6995 calls are scams.

Elan (Financial services) reported by

Elan is a credit card servicing company, and they call from this number if they suspect fraudulent charges on your card. I let it go to voice mail, then called the customer service number on my card. There was a charge on my card that they thought was suspicious, but was actually valid. I'd much rather have 100 false alarms like that one than a single actual fraudulent charge.

Turned out to be real; USBank Visa fraud had occurred. (Financial services) reported by

I didn't answer bcz I didn't recognize number. Left message to call back. I called the number on the back of my credit card instead, and found the card was compromised and got a new one from USBank. Good service. Always call number on your credit card, becasue the other one could be spoofed.

call came right after I'd ordered a computer online (Robocall) reported by

I'd used a credit card to order a laptop - call came within a few minutes. Sounded a bit suspect but since I'd just used the card we called back. Foreign accent on robocall made us suspicious but they wanted to verify last 3 transactions and din't ask for anything other to verify amounts.

Might be a scam (Call centre) reported by

They robo-called my workplace asking for a Nicholas Brewer, who’s never worked here. I called it back and it asked if I was Nicholas Brewer. I started hitting zero to speak to a human, but the robot started rattling off charges they believed to be fraudulent. When I finally got to a human the first thing they asked for was my 16 digit card number. They didn’t ask for a password or access code, straight to asking for the card number. I said hey, this is a restaurant, I think you’ve got the wrong number for someone. She hung up on me.

Fraud Propagation (Robocall) reported by

They left a robo voicemail at my work number referencing potential fraud on a personal credit card. The only activity on that card during the past couple years is interest charges and payments. The bank certainly didn't flag that as fraudulent, but there is definitely a fraud attempt in play here.
