Fraud Prevention (Financial services) reported by Mercy
I got a call at my office regarding my business credit card. I called back and they wanted to verify I had made a couple of charges. One charge I did not recall. They wanted to verify my identity, they knew my last 4 ss# and some other info. I hung up and thought, maybe those were the scammers! I called the number on the back of my card to verify it was them and they did in fact call me to prevent fraud.

This is a phone number from Elan Financial Services. (Financial services) reported by Big Ed
They called me and left a message about unusual activity on my card. I was suspicious about the number so I called the number on my card instead. My card had been compromised. The original call was valid but if in doubt use the number on your card like I did.

Fidelity CC Fraud Prevention (Financial services) reported by Fred B
This is 3rd time I have been called by Fidelity re suspicious card activity. This time and one other it was an unauthorized transaction. Fidelity will have already put a hold on card. After my verification of fraud, they cancel the card and send me a new one. A little problem is caused by having to change any valid recurring charges, but better than danger of using card again.

Us Bank Fraud dept. (Robocall) reported by Lisa Tiemann
This number called me . They stated I had fraudulent charges, I hung up and called US bank and the had put a hold on my card. I had tried to purchase cigars through cigars.com and the noticed it did not match my spending habits, they released the hold on my card. So, legit call but I still never answer questions from an 1800 number but always call the bank directly..

Claimed to be fraud alert (Financial services) reported by Mick
I answered the call and waited while an automated system connected me to a human. A woman with a Caribbean accent claimed to be with a fraud alert system connected with this credit card and wanted info on recent charges to the card. The automated system knew my name and the last four of the card number. I asked the human to prove to me that she was actually with U.S. Bank. She could or would not and asked me to call the number on my card. My gut feeling is that this number is a scam operation and I will block it in my phone. However, I see in this and various other websites that quite a few people believe this number is legit. I don't believe it. Normally I would not answer a call from a toll free number that I don't know because they are likely to be scam operations but today for some reason I did.

I blocked this number and still receive monthly calls from it. I see lots of people commenting its US Bank, I have no accounts with them. I think all the scammers are posting on here to say this # is legit to make you fall for the scam. USBank should offer texts and emails for fraud alerts, in addition to a phone call.

Posing as my Elan Card Services Fraud Department (Scam call) reported by Cardholder
Retrieved a voicemail at work from this number, claiming to be Elan Card Service Fraud Department. They had the last 4 of my c/card number and said that I needed to call to resolve possible fraud. Since the phone # they left did not match the one on my card I did not call them, opting to call the real number instead. There was no fraud, but there would have been had I called the number left in the VM and given any other information that they could use. BEWARE!

Fraud services (Financial services) reported by J
Apparently my credit card is through US Bank - I didn’t know this but they had all my purchase info and had flagged some failed purchases I’d attempted the night before. They unflagged my card when I told them I’d tried to make those purchases.

Fraud Prevention (Financial services) reported by Anonymous me
Cardmember Services Fraud Prevention Dept. is what they said, although they had the last 4 digits of my VISA account. I called my card issuer, and they did not know of this phone number, but they did say there were 2 recent charges on my account. I called the number with the Case # they provided, and the automated response unit walked me thru the verification process. This was a legit call, but I am not happy that this is the only way they chose to notify me, and that my issuer was not aware of this call to me. I notified them.

fraud protection from company servicing Fidelity cards (Financial services) reported by Matt
I don't trust calls from 800 numbers, but they left a voice mail with a case number. Rather than call the number they gave me, I called the customer service number on the back of my credit card. This adds a couple of minutes to the process before eventually you get to the same fraud protection department where they ask if you recognize the charge. You should return this call - either to remove a fraudulent charge or to unblock your card.

US Bank Fraud Prevention (Financial services) reported by Ruby
I received a text message and then a call warning me of a fraudulent charge on my credit card. The call went through automated messages about the potentially fraudulent charge and confirmed that previous charges on the card were made by me. I was nervous that the text and call might have been a scam so I hung up and called the fraud prevention number listed on US Bank's website, and it got me to the same automated messages about the fraudulent charge and my previous charges before routing me to a real person. It sounds a little sketch but it's a legit number.

Fraud alert (Financial services) reported by BlackSheepofChaplin
Elan bank's Amex card fraud alert. Many people with an with an Elan Amex card has been hacked and will be charged for a Netflix subscription out of the Netherlands or California. I'm so paranoid that I went online to my Amex card's (Elan bank) website and called them using the phone number listed there. It was different than this one, but the call from this number was legitimate. The charge was for only $15 US, so it would be easy to miss.

They claimed fraud usage on my credit card. Not true! (Scam call) reported by Meli Crist
They called, then they texted, then they called my work number. I picked up and was alerted to fraudulent usage on my card. I verified I had not used my card for those details. They switched me to another department, new operator wanted my card number. I let them know that they have my card number, and that I would not provide it to them. She countered with saying she was a different person than the previous person I talked to. I said, "we are done, unless you can provide me with my complete card number." I then hung up! This is fake! Don't buy into it!
