Fraud Deterance (Scam call) reported by Tonia
I was sent a 6 digit code from 3 different numbers.then this number repeatedly called me saying it was "CASH APP FRAUD DETECTION, WE ARE TRYING TO PROVE YOUR IDENTITY. IF THIS WAS NOT YOU PLEASE ENTER THE 6 DIGIT CODE WE HAVE SENT YOU" I almost believed it was legit until I looked at the numbers that the codes were coming from and they were all different. Also there was a message under the codes that said "THIS IS YOUR SIGN IN CODE. BY ENTERING YOU AGREE TO THE TERMS , E-SIGN CONSENT AND PRIVACY POLICY:" They also included the ACTUAL LINK TO CASH APP under that. Had I entered the numbers I would have been SCAMMED.Had I not recognized that the code was coming from 3 different numbers I might have been fooled. The callers were very persistent as they had called from this number about 8 times. BEWARE. They have moved on from Chase Bank and are now doing Cash App Scam.

Called my bank-FRAUD spoofed my banks#. We stopped them! (Scam call) reported by Jane
Received text on same# my Banks text alerts come to, stating "Chase Bank Fraud Free Msg: Zelle QuickPay ($2000.00) If Or Not Authorized Reply, YES or NO. Msgs&Data Rates May Apply. Reply STOP to OPT Out." I replied NO. I was at work with people standing at my desk, so a bit distracted. I see now the mistakes in the message, but it showed up right below the last alerts I received from Chase. Was about to call my bank, my phone rang & I answered. The guy on the phone was really good & realistic sounding & I was stressed from seeing the message---plus it had been a crazy day at work & I was already juggling far too many balls at once. Otherwise I would have stopped the call sooner than I did. I even went out & got my computer & purse & took into another room, got online & pulled up my account. The only thing I did that he asked me to was to type in DELETE when he sent another text that showed up right after the one I listed above. Apparently when I typed DELETE it gave some kind of access to my phone because later there was another SCAM text, & multiple calls coming in from various #'s & area codes. My gut kept reacting while I was on phone & my sense of unease grew & I remembered online it states the bank will never call you. I told the guy I was simply not comfortable with this. Everything he asked me for I told him he would have to give me information & I would then tell him if it was accurate. He kept delaying giving me information, even gave me the 800# above for me to google. Saw was Chase Bank's Customer Service# & was almost fooled. Didn't see info on this page til later. Hung up & called my bank. SO GLAD I listened to GOD's nudge & hung up. My bank transferred me to Fraud Department & they were great. She congratulated me on thwarting the scammer's attempt to get info. BE AWARE, scammers are getting VERY BOLD!

My credit card DO text me if I am making a lot of purchases too quickly or a large purchase from somewhere I haven't made a purchase from before. Pretty much all of my debit and credit card banks have texted at some point in time to ask YES or NO did you authorize this purchase. Every time it WAS me and I just texted back yes and everything was fine. I wouldn't go any further than a yes or no. If you say no they will stop the purchase. You don't need to give them or verify any info a scammer could use if it's a legitimate call if they are asking for Anything besides a simple yes or no I no give them anything.

scam scam scam scam. they are a scam they send you charge inquiry to your phone and it's illegitimate. and then they follow up with this call and get you to transfer money from your account through Zillow to yourself but it actually goes to them. it's a total scam and you'll be totally ripped off. don't have anything to do with these people hang up and report them.

This is a phone number for calling Chase bank regarding your finances. I am not sure if they use this number to make outgoing calls; they probably do not. There are scammers that spoof their Caller IDs to make it seem like they are calling from this number, and thus putting on an air of legitimacy. There is nothing Chase can do to prevent their number from being spoofed. Stop blaming the number, just be wary of incoming calls that show it on Caller ID.

I got caught when they called me about fraud activity, and wanted the OTP code which seemed legit at first, but is is a scammer. Chase was great and even though they tried to wire, ACH, and Zelle money from my account all was prevented. Just beware not to give any infomation out if you did not call chase directly. Chase does not call and will never ask you for your pin or your OTP with out your knowing requesting it.

If you get a call that appears to be from this number, it's likely a scammer spoofing his caller ID. Basically, the only time an incoming call from this number this would be legitimate is if you had called this number before and you were expecting a call back.
