I missed a call from this number. When I called back it was a very elaborate automated system that asked me to input my account number in order to get my information. It was very similar to the type of system you would hear if you called a real Citibank phone number. Since it sounded like it could actually be Citibank, I called the Citibank number I found on my account statement. I was told by an actual Citibank representative the number is a scam and is not related to the real Citibank.

Robo call to a student-only phone number used only for school related questions by students. How did they even get this number? Random number generator? Also, never had a citibank account, so did not "hold for a representative."

I suddenly began receiving many calls each day, most of them are hang-ups but some leave a voicemail about a debt with a threat to turn over to the credit rating companies. The voicemail instructs me to press a number to speak to a person or to return the call-- but leaves no phone number. 1 877-609-5704 is one of the numbers used, along with numbers that appear to be spoofed residential numbers from my home town. For these reasons, I believe this is phishing.

Called about a late payment which is true but I couldn't verify any information given. I refused to offer up my bank account information as they have it already. Tried calling CitiBank back on a number I have but was put on hold for 15 minutes, then unexpectedly disconnected.
