I received a call from Amazon who wanted to verify my credit card purchase I just made. I declined and called Amazon. It was not them. They had no record and my purchase was not in question. SCAM!

I gave someone my card number to use for a purchase. They used it through their own Amazon account and put my info in the billing. "Amazon" (heavy Indian accent) called me a few minutes after the order was placed and asked me to confirm the purchase amount. I did. It's my business card, so it will be easy to see if it ends up used fraudulently.

Missed two back to back calls from this number that my phone tagged as “Amazon” on caller ID. I tried to call back and got an automated voice saying the number was not in service. I reached out to Amazon via their chat online and the rep told me they were scam calls and to NOT answer them if they call again, give info, or otherwise entertain them. Be wary!!!

A man with a heavy Indian accent called me to confirm an expensive Amazon order I just placed. Sounded legit, and he already knew all my info just wanted to confirm my address and email address. Called Amazon after I hung up to confirm, and they said that they never contacted me. Change my password and cancelled my credit card just as a precautionary measure. Don't give these people any of your info.

After placing an order on Amazon 5 minutes later I received this call. They asked for me by name but I could tell they had a foreign accent so I told them they had the wrong number. I called Amazon and ask him about the call they told me someone had been trying to fraudulently get into my account. The order I placed never came through as an order period. I did receive an email from Amazon and after talking to them on the phone advise me that they would never call they always communicate through email. I did change my password and reordered my items. Called to confirm $2000 laptop purchase (Scam call) reported by


I did not make any purchase like that. I told them to stop calling me and contacted amazon who said it wasn't them. When they called again I told them to stop calling and that I knew they weren't amazon. 2 days later and I have a $1400 laptop purchase on my amazon account. Lock down ur account as soon as these people call you. I can't get into my amazon account because someone changed my password too. I'm now freaking out and **** off beyond belief. DO NOT ANSWER and immediately change your passwords and enable the 2 step authentication.

I received 3 phone calls from this number (location said it's in Washington D.C.). Did not pick up since it was unknown. They left a voicemail and said they were the Amazon Verification Team trying to confirm a large order amount (they had the exact total number of what I put in today). They also had my first and middle name. I contacted Amazon and this IS NOT them. DO NOT give them any information. Scam.

Called me to verify that I hard ordered a big-ticket item from Amazon. Originally I didn't pick up because they called super early in the morning and I was asleep. Kept calling. Like 15 calls in the space of 20 minutes. When I finally woke up, heard an Indian accent (which explains why he thought I was awake and was so insistent; time zone difference), and immediately hung up. Turns out it was the real Amazon, which I found out when I called their customer service number. The problem is that HE KEPT CALLING repeatedly; coupled with the stereotype of Indian scammers made me highly suspicious. Amazon really needs a better policy in regards to this.

I made an unusual order in Amazon (unusual in my shopping record). Some minutes after I made my order, this number called me. I didn't answer the first call, but I picked their second try. A woman with a latin accent, and in spanish, asked for me by my name (I live in Mexico). She said she called from Amazon. We had some trouble with the quality of the call, some interference. I told her I could not hear her. She asked for a moment and moved, moved between what it sounded like boxes in a big warehouse (echo). She told me she just wanted to confirm my order, with the exact amount. I told her I wasn't confortable with this call and that I didn't trust her. If there is something to clarify, please send me an e-mail, I asked. She replied that she would send me an e-mail, with some doubt in her voice. We finished the call. I do not think this is Amazon. I changed passwords and got some antivirus.
