Man called me wanting to verify my address (just ordered a computer). Thought it was a scam and said I would call Amazon myself. He gave me a 866 number to call which I did not. After calling Amazon twice and speaking with two different people, neither knew of anyone from the company who called to verify addresses, yet the 866 number he gave me was Amazon's customer service number. So even though he sounds like a scam artist I think he is real.

Claims to be Amazon, He just wanted a confirmation for an order. Asked him why would Amazon call me, disregarded question, he just wanted a yes or no. I contacted Amazon and they stated they rarely will call people, confirmations are done through email. Do not give your information, if unsure hang up and just contact Amazon on there "contact us" page.

Called the number back and got Amazon Customer Service. They were very helpful but they had no idea why someone called. They said they would never call about an order, they would only contact me by email. Not sure how the person that originally called knew I had just placed an Amazon order but do not answer this number. Definitely a scam pretending to be Amazon.

FFS. This seems to be a real call from amazon fraud department. The problem is they called without telling me. So I didnt answer (as a precaution). Then I googled the number. Then I called them. And they asked for my name, email.. I gave that. Then they asked for my address.. Then I became unsure if the review here were correct. So I signed in and contacted chat. Chat said they called me, and need to recall. Chat asked for my number. Then a different number called, but same area code. 2069220865. The guy asked for my email twice. Then he said he doesnt have clearance to help me because my account is locked, and I have to talk to a specialist. And that will take 24 hours. FFS!! AZ locked my account because I made a big purchase - then they called me with and unknown number - so I didnt answer. They reset my email to an old one. Locked my pass. I had to reset by old email. I've talked to chat 3 times. Now I reordered. And its still processing. It's taking 3 hours to fix... AZ if you read this: If you need to confirm orders then send us email alerts to tell us to expect a call from #. Otherwise we are suspicious of your call.

Seemed like a scam. The rep wanted to verify the cost of an Amazon purchase and gave me the price of the item that I was unfamiliar with. Then told me the ending of a card that I don't even own. When I expressed my confusion, they simply told me they "canceled" the order and hung up.

Can confirm. I had been locked out of my account for a few days and opened a ticket. Within 24 hours received a call from this number. Asked about my orders I had created, had my name. I said yes. Immediately after the call, was able to access my account once again. They had locked it down due to suspicion of fraud.

Claimed to be amazon. Tried to phish my personal info. I gave them phony info. They then called amazon impersonating me but failed the security checks. Amazon notified me of this when I contacted them via chat shortly after and we compared time stamps/logs to confirm it wasn't me who made the call to amazon's legitimate number.

Not sure if it's legit or not, but someone hacked into my Amazon account to order an X-box. I think they were calling to confirm and when I didn't answer Amazon cancelled the order. Or it could be the scammer trying to get my info. Either way if you get a call from this number, something is up.
