Caller (typical telemarketing recording) claimed 7145510181 is the official IRS number. It also claimed IRS has filed law suit. Per IRS press release on IRS site, this is a scam call and should be shut down.

Robo call stating the IRS has a criminal case open and I need to call back to get the information. I reported this call to [email protected]. Everybody that gets these call should report them to the IRS.

Didn't get all the details of the call because we have an answering machine with a warning before it starts to record so we usually miss the first sentence or so. But we did get the part "... for more info on this case file call 714 551-0181. Thank you." Seems to be in line with other comments about IRS scam in these reviews AND isn't much different from the previous "IRS Threats" we've received on other numbers in the past. Wish these dirtbags would dry up and **** away.

Live person advised the call is from IRS and they have audited my taxes and multiple years have bad calculations. They asked to verify name and address. She cited the 3 charges they are going to place against me. Transferred me to next level to resolve by paying money or be arrested by Sheriff's department and have all assets, bank accounts and driver's license seized. They claimed they attempted to deliver certified mail on 2 specific dates, but correspondence was returned since I was not home. Ultimately, I had to either confirm I would pay balance or end the call and immediately be arrested.

This is a definite IRS scam. I called back from an unlisted number to see who would answer. Obviously no one and you could tell that it rings for a few times, then you hear clicks like it's forwarding to another line and the same thing happens over and over. If they had answered, they would have gone deaf with the air horn I would have blown into the phone. Sadly, I didn't get to use it.

East Indian accent, claims IRS investigation dept (Scam call) reported by


I called this number back, and heard it click many times as it rang. A woman with an eastern Indian accent answered very professionally. I asked who I was speaking with, and she claimed she was in the investigations dept. I called B.S. on her and she said "oh ok" and hung up on me. The IRS doesn't call people like that.
