This is a scam. I just closed the account because it was hacked. My bank verified they didn’t issue this alert and would contact us directly not through some robo call. Fishing for a new account. Hang up!

They called my number and left an automated voice message claiming to be my banks fraud detection (they said the name of my bank) regarding my card (and they gave the last 4 digits of my card). They said they were temporarily suspending my account due to suspected fraudulent purchases and told me to call them back and gave me a code. The ONLY reason I doubted it was because it came up on my caller ID as potential spam. So I called my actual bank to verify they had called me and it was not them, not their fraud detection number, nor was my account temporarily suspended.

It was for fraud prevention on an unauthorized charge, keep in mind this does not mean it may not be spoofed, but for me it was legit. I suggest always be sure, I called back via the number on the back of my card it was slightly different which is not unusual as companies like to buy a consecutive block of numbers. Don't give any account information take your case number and call back on the number on the back of your card to CYA.

Recorded/computer voice - fraud alert. Had correct name and correct last 4 on card. I did not return call to the number provided but called my local branch office. They confirmed it was a legitimate fraud alert and my card was shut down. When in doubt, call your bank or branch and not the number they leave in the recorded message.

This was verified by my bank to be legit in verifying suspicious activity with my bank card. Card was cancelled and sent new one to me. Walmart.com was trying to take 433.00 out of my account that i did not authorize turns out. Good job bank!
