Called the number and it was fully automated. They asked what language then the case number I was given when they called me originally. They stated my full name and then asked for the billing zip code on the card by saying the last 4 digits. They then asked about 3 of my last transactions, at random, which included the purchase I recently made that triggered this call. I confirmed them by pressing 1 at each one after hearing the exact charge and the location where I was purchasing from. The automation said there was no more possible hold and hung up. This call came after ~15min of my large holiday purchase at home online.

I see other posts that are very confusing. If this is a legit call, then why in the heck are they calling at 2:45AM??? I'll call my bank in the morning and check it out. Update: I called my bank and this number IS NOT A LEGITIMATE CALL. My bank verified that it was NOT them and my card has NOT been placed on a temporary hold. I suggest that if you receive a call from this number, call your bank and verify it with them personally. These hackers are getting so good at stealing your information and your money!!

This is a legitimate call. Google the # and it will lead to a site (https://www.litchfieldbancorp.com/fraud_protection.php) with this number listed. Secondly, you never talk to a human or robot that asks you for any personal information other than the billing zip code and your name. The robot reads back your last three charges and asks you to verify them (or not) then tells you your card is ok to use (assuming correct charges) There is no attempt to ask for a debit card number or CC number, SSN , phone number, Email, mailing address, etc. I use Golden 1 for reference.

I didn't call the # back last evening because I didn't trust it. However, I did check my account which showed no breach. The bank phoned me first thing this morning questioning a transaction with Instacart which was out of state. They verified that this company is legit.

Automatic message wanting me to confirm my name regarding fraud alert. I hung up and called my bank who provided the same number. Their website also has the number under fraud. Called back, and spoke to someone who questioned a few charges that seemed suspicious on their behalf. Legitimate call.

PROSPERITY BANK FRAUD PROTECTION CENTER, PROSPERITY BANK , (https://www.prosperitybankusa.com), Prosperity Bank Fraud Protection Center calling to check possible fraudulent charges on my credit card. to confirm my identity they sent me an ID number on text to my cell phone. They read off the charges I made on Amazon and I was able to confirm those charges were made by me the night before. This is a legitimate company who works for Prosperity Bank and maybe other Banks as well. They wanted to make sure the charges were mine and not due to fraud and I was able to confirm those charges.

Woke up to a voicemail from this number. Was concerned when I called back, so I wasn’t going to give them much information. They had everything they needed pretty much already. They just asked me if I made a charge to a company which I had not. Then they asked if I made another charge to a company which I HAD. So they left the fraud charge blocked and offered to send me a new card. I was still Leary, so I just hung up and called my bank. She said, “looks like they already blocked the charge so you weren’t charged and were going to send a new card”. LEGIT FRAUD CENTER* If you don’t think so, just call your bank instead. Just make sure you call them back or your bank because mine was a real fraud charge.

Called saying my account was compromised and my bank card had been flag and unusable. I called my bank and she said they don't use that service. They would call us direct. Just someone trying to steal info. People need to get real jobs.

The service is real, the bank may not use this service however mine does and they have saved me several times.

If they are trying to steal information, then they would have asked for some. This service doesn't. It only asks for a billing zip code, verification of name and if the charges in question are correct or not. What people think they can gain from this information i don't know. Secondly, it seems many people mark this as fraud and say they are trying to steal information without even calling the #.

I received a notice that my debit card that there was suspicious activity on my debit card and was asked to contact 1-844-682-4502. A case number was even assigned. However, when I checked with my bank, I was advised by my bank that it does not use this service or any service like it with respect to suspicious activity. As a result, I closed my account and destroyed my debit card.
