This is a scam, even though a real Amazon phone number shows up in caller id. They claim someone is trying to order an iphone for $799 on your account. Please just hang up !! ( Check your bank / credit card / amazon accounts if you're really concerned, to make sure no one has charged you anything ). Amazon will e-mail you, they won't be calling you. And PLEASE DO NOT let them talk you into giving them any personal info or download anything new from them, YOU DO NOT HAVE TO DOWNLOAD ANYTHING TO YOUR COMPUTER / PHONE IN ORDER TO GET A LEGITIMATE COMPANY TO STOP A SUSPICIOUS PURCHASE! Stay safe everyone !! And for all of our health and safety as a country PLEASE WHERE A MASK WHEN YOU ARE OUTSIDE OR IN A STORE DURING THIS PANDEMIC. We all need to pull together, respect each other, and behave like that. Your freedoms are not being disrespected or trampled upon by wearing a mask during a pandemic. This is a very small sacrifice you are being asked to make for the wellbeing of your fellow country men and women. We still ask people to serve in our military and sacrifice their lives in the name of America. Please step up and respect the sacrifice so many have made with their lives...WEAR A MASK !!!

Received call from this # & was told my account had suspicious activity & was told to get to my computer to download programs but our computer could not do so. Grew suspicious due to heavy accent and ended my conversation asking him to call another day. Went to my Amazon acct and found no "iphone" purchase in my order history so did a live chat with Amazon to verify call and was informed Amazon does NOT make calls! Whew, I barely escaped evil.

Today (04-17-2010) at 12:30PM PDT, I received a call allegedly from 888-280-4331. Due to the volume of robocalls that I receive, I no longer answer the telephone. I let all calls go to voice mail. Seconds after the call, voice mail message told me that "64 gigabytes had been ordered on my Amazon account; and that I should press #1 to verify order." This is a scam to obtain information. The call did NOT come from Amazon, although the number can be traced to Amazon. No order had been placed by me. Block this number.
